Lawrence Jones was born and raised in a small town in Louisiana. Mr. Lorace Jones and Mrs. Berita Jones instilled in him the value of education and the principle of hard work. Born into a family with three brothers and two sisters, Lawrence had to find his own niche.
He excelled in sports and academics. During his senior year, he was awarded a football scholarship to Alabama State University. It was there that Lawrence discovered his gift for writing poetry and prose.
His highly anticipated book of poems, Rain Drops From Heaven, is a tribute to the treasures and heartbreaks of a fruitful life. He expresses the needs and desires of a young man, driven by God, to achieve excellence.
After twenty years of writing, he is a spiritual scientist by occupation and by passion. His themes are simple and intimate, reflecting on his Judeo-Christian heritage.
He has won numerous awards such as the World of Poetry Award (1990 & 1991), the Blue Bonnet Award from the Southern Poetry Association, and Blue Ribbon Award from Poetry World.
